Workshop with Karen Meneghin
May 18–19, 2024: Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville VT
A two-day portrait workshop immersed in the stylistic approach of Édouard Manet. Each day begins with a “Master Sketch” followed by portrait painting with a LIVE MODEL in period costume. Includes discussion of media, supports, application and stylistic approach working in an Impressionist style.
DAY 1 Morning : SHORT DEMO “Master Sketch” with discussion of Manet’s “George Moore,” (Support dimensions:: 9 x 12 or larger, paper or canvas)
Day 1 Afternoon : PAINTING LIVE MODEL in period costume (Support dimensions:: 16 x 20 or 22 x 30, paper or canvas)
Day 2 Morning : SHORT DEMO “Master Sketch” with discussion of Manet’s “Berthe Morisot with Bouquet of Violets,” (Support dimensions: 9 x 12 or larger, paper or canvas)
Day 2 Afternoon : CONTINUE PAINTING LIVE MODEL in period costume (Support dimensions:: 16 x 20 or 22 x 30, paper or canvas)
